9 Podcasts I’m Listening to Right Now

by Katie Rapp

“Give me a good podcast” is a common statement exchanged between my sister and myself. I’m a stay-at-home mom and she’s a working mom but we both enjoy a good podcast to make folding laundry or driving to work more enjoyable. And who doesn’t love a good multitask situation!?!

So, after looking through my podcast library here are some of my favorite choices.

Don’t Mom Alone By Heather MacFayden

“Heather MacFadyen, a mother of four boys, understands the wild ride of motherhood. In this podcast she interviews guests who help mentor, walk alongside and disciple you. Reminding you that you don’t mom alone!”

It is a God-centered podcast that is super honest about the struggles of motherhood and marriage. She usually has different guests each week and a few highlighted guests are Max Lucado, Lisa TerKeurst, Paul David Tripp, and even often her husband.

My favorite episode to date is episode 254, Adventures of a Boy Mom with Monica Swanson.

Risen Motherhood

On each episode of the Risen Motherhood podcast, hosts Laura and Emily discuss relevant topics to everyday motherhood through the lens of the gospel. From potty training or cooking dinner to miscarriage or PPD, no topic is off-limits. Each episode is about 20 minutes, so you can fit it into your day when you’re washing dishes, folding laundry, or driving to work.

JourneyWomen

Journeywomen comes alongside women to move them to know and love God and His Word, to find hope in the gospel, and to invest deeply in their local churches as they go out on mission for the glory of God.

Proverbs 31 Ministries Podcast

“Maybe you were single and they were married. Maybe you’re a grandmother and they were childless. Or maybe they were older and you were younger. Too often we only look to our peers for guidance because we feel like they’re the only ones who could ‘get us.’ It’s good to rely on friends, but seeing your life from a different perceptive can e irreplaceable. That’s why we’re thrilled to share with you what we’ve been learning on the Proverbs 31 ministries podcast! Every episode will feature a staff member or friend of the ministry who can teach you something valuable from their vantage point.”

Fight Hustle End Hurry Podcast

Jefferson Bethke and John Mark Comer go deeper into the contents of their books “To Hell With The Hustle” and “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry” in this 10 part podcast. These are less than 30 minutes long and are perfect for a quick but meaningful listen. Seriously, don’t miss this podcast!

The Bobby Bones Show

The Bobby Bones Show is a nationally syndicated country music radio show. They pull pranks, interview country music stars as well as up-and-comers, and share what’s going on in their personal lives.

4 Things With Amy Brown

Amy Brown is a co-host of the nationally syndicated country morning radio show The Bobby Bones Show. On her 4 things podcast “she chats about 4 things each episode that she practices to promote an overall healthy well-being and maintain an attitude of gratitude, which she is trying to instill in her newly adopted children from Haiti while juggling the crazy schedule of a working mom!”

Raising Fame: Sports Edition

Dell and Sonya Curry interview the people who raised your beloved sports legends into who they are today. They take you back to when Tom Brady the GOAT was just “Tommy” and not getting a single snap at QB, when Shaquille O’Neal was the unexpected newborn of a strong but scared teen mother, when Steph Curry was failing the “eye test”, and when Megan Rapinoe was wearing angel wings on Halloween. These are the unforgettable stories of these iconic athletes’ childhoods. How they were raised. The highs and lows of their parts to glory. Incredible tales shared by the people who helped shape them into the superstars you know and love.

What are you listening to and how is it encouraging you on the journey? Is it just making you laugh for a minute as you trudge through that commute or make yet ANOTHER meal? Is it uplifting and helps you on your walk with the Lord? We want to know so we can add it to our playlist!

Looking for a community or someone to grab coffee with who is in a similar life season? We’d love to connect with you and get to know you better! Below you will find a few people that can’t wait to meet you, shoot us an email so we can make a plan!
