Born in Midland, I grew up in Wichita Falls, TX. My memories of growing up in Wichita Falls are good ones, . . . filled with good friends, godly adults in my life, loving every minute of playing every sport I could, and experiencing the movement of the Spirit of God in the Lay Witness Mission Movement that continues to impact me even to this day.
Around the age of six, I came to believe in Jesus through the love and witness of my mom, whose godliness and perseverance in following Christ greatly shaped who I became.
Even at a young age, all I really wanted to do was to preach Christ and pastor. My theological education has taken me to DBC, DTS and SMU. And along the way, I have served as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor in a variety of settings, . . . Methodist, Baptist, Bible, and Non-Denominational. God has blessed me with two beautiful and incredible daughters who desire to serve and share Christ with their lives: Abby-Lane to Muslim women in Central Asia and beyond, and Sarah in reaching inner-city children.
GCC has been an integral part of my journey. I served as Youth Pastor back in the ‘80’s, came back in 2008 as the Athens Campus Pastor, and have been serving as the Pastor of Men and Care Ministry since 2010. In this latest role, I provide leadership and oversight for our ministries of Men, Care/Bereavement, Grief Share, 55 Alive, Family Grace Groups and Living Grace Groups.
My passionate desire as I relate to people along the journey is that they might be: safely known, graciously explored, hopefully discovered and powerfully touched.
