I grew up in Tyler, TX with my mom & sisters. My parents were divorced when I was young and my dad lived in Saudi Arabia so I only saw him once a year. I was not raised in church, but did have strong Christian influences in my life and began attending a church youth group with a neighbor friend. I accepted Christ as my savior the summer after my 7th grade year at youth camp after learning of His unconditional love for me.
After many years of trials, tragedy and transition all throughout my junior high & high school years I graduated from high school in San Marcus, TX with great longing for firm roots in something, somewhere, a place to call home. I moved back to Tyler where I began dating my husband (Chip) and got very involved in a local church were much growth and resolve began to transform my life and pursuits.
After Chip & I got married in 2001, I became part of the Student Ministry team at our church. That’s were I realized my passion for student discipleship. As I was finishing my Bachelors degree at LeTourneau University, working full time as a Sales Representative for an Inventory Management Company, and growing more & more involved with student ministry, God was continuing a great work in me. After the birth of our two children, Ellie in 2005 & Grayson in 2009, I began to grow weary of the corporate world and wanted badly for my time away from my family to be more involved with disciplining teens.
As God was growing in me this desire for full time ministry, in August of 2009 He provided an opportunity to work on staff part time at Grace Community Church as the Student Ministry Girls Director. There was no denying God’s provision for me & my family during that time. As my kids got older my role at Grace has become full time and it has been an incredible journey! My hearts beat is to be a pursuer of people just as God has so passionately pursued me!
