At Grace Community Church, we exist to be disciples and make disciples for the glory of God in East Texas and throughout the world. In turn, Missional Communities exist to be and make disciples, intentionally living life together and seeking to share the Gospel with friends, co-workers, neighbors, and the city. We want to be a Gospel movement in East Texas and the world. To do this, every believer must be in the mission of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, where he/she lives, works, and plays.
WORSHIP, MISSION, COMMUNITY
Just like the first gatherings of Jesus-followers as described in the book of Acts, each Missional Community relies on Scripture for truly experiencing the life transformation available through the power of the Gospel, equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, and engaging in the mission of spreading the Good News of God’s redemptive work throughout the world.
WHERE WE LIVE, WORK, & PLAY
Missional Community – A group of Christians on mission with God, in obedience to the Holy Spirit, that seeks to disciple and develop believers, and demonstrates tangibly and declares creatively the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a specific pocket of people where we live, work, and play.
These are the monthly rhythms of Missional Communities:
- Social Gatherings – times for believes and not-yet believers to come together for picnics, gams nights, parties, sporting events, etc. to just get to know each other
- Family Dinners – times for believers to gather to eat, share, “highs and lows,’ reflect on scripture and pray together. Not-yet believers welcomed as well!
- Alongsider Groups – small, gender-specific groups that meet frequently for the purpose of deeper Bible study, prayer for one another and unbelieving friends, and accountability to life transformation as they confess and repent of sin, while reminding each other and believing in the gospel’s implications for their lives
