GSM – Grace Student Ministry – Lindale
GSM - Grace Student Ministry
Lindale Campus

At GSM, we exist to see junior high and high school students (7th-12th) be and make disciples for the glory of God through being wholeheartedly committed to the Worship of God, fully engaged in the Mission of the Gospel, and intimately connected to the Community of Believers. We do this through downloadable resources, our weekly gatherings, and annual discipleship events that are created with the student in mind. We desire to offer a safe, relaxed, come-as-you-are environment where a student can build friendships, become deeply known, and connect to the greater body of Christ. The prayer is for all students to understand what it means to truly walk in the freedom that Christ offers and live fully alive.

Furthermore, it is our hope to come alongside the family and serve each parent in their efforts to disciple their children, as we are convinced that parents are who God intends to be the primary disciple-makers in a child’s life. Throughout the year, there will be opportunities to be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to thrive in the role that God has graciously given to parents.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

(Deuteronomy 6:5-7, ESV)

Wednesday Evenings – 3:30pm-8:00pm

Every Wednesday night throughout the school year, GSM gathers together for fellowship, fun, and Biblical teaching. Students will be challenged and encouraged in community groups as they look to build and strengthen relationships with their friends, adult leaders, and God by diving deeper into the evening’s topic. These smaller groups are divided according to age and gender as we believe this is a highly effective format for life-giving transformation to happen.

We open our doors at 3:30pm to allow students to hang out, do homework, and relax from the mid-week stress. At 6:00pm, we offer a free first-come, first-serve dinner, and our program gets started at 6:35pm with high school students jumping directly into community groups while junior high students meet in a large group setting. Halfway through the evening, the junior high students move into community groups while our high school students finish the evening in large group.

Sunday Mornings – 11:00am-12:00pm

On Sunday mornings, we hope to create a safe and welcoming community for students to build friendships and accountability with each other as they grow and learn about Jesus. During bible study, we will cover relevant topics and material that can supplement what students are learning at home and during our worship services at 8:00am, 9:30am, or 11:00am. Discussion groups and engaging leaders will help students absorb content designed to meet them where they are and answer questions they’re asking.

Catalyst

Catalyst is a year long discipleship program designed to grow and challenge students in their junior and senior year of high school. The program begins with a wilderness trip to Colorado the summer before their junior or senior year for the sake of unity and to form a foundation of strong relationships for community and discipleship.

Throughout the year, we will have 17 Sunday night Alongsider group meetings where the gentlemen and ladies will separate to build community and accountability. For 21 Sunday meetings, the gentlemen and ladies will come back together to cover theology, leadership, and life skills all while planning missional outreach parties.

Students that participate in the Catalyst Discipleship Program are also expected to be contributors, not just consumers, at Grace Community Church. These students will be leaders of small groups on Wednesday nights and other GSM events, missional in their mindset on a Sunday morning in and out of the GSM room, and provided multiple opportunities to volunteer throughout the year.
