Bible Study Round Up

Guided bible studies are a great way to deepen your relationship with God and cultivate a daily spiritual discipline of being in the word. But sometimes it is hard to find a good fit, one that doesnā€™t have hours and hours of homework, something that can be done on your own or in a group, etc.Ā Ā

I prefer meaty bible studies. Some of them might be topical while others might be just studying a book of the Bible from start to finish. Either one is fine and has its place as long as it is biblical sound and anchored in scripture.Ā

For this post, I want to share four of my all-time favorite bible studies that I have done on my own and in groups.Ā

Arise: A Study of Nehemiah (Daily Grace Company)

I had never studied (or maybe even read) the book of Nehemiah before I order this study from a sale the Daily Grace Company was having. But Iā€™m really glad I did. This study was so good and I wish I could do it justice in this post. I canā€™t so I think you should just order the study and try it for yourself. The best thing about the Daily Grace Company studies is that they arenā€™t video based so these are studies you can do daily on your own or with a friend.Ā

God of Creation (Jen Wilkin)

I am a complete fan girl when it comes to Jen Wilkin. I love her studies and how they are solidly written to point us to God throughout the whole Bible. God of Creation has been one of my favorite studies by her and I also love the second part of this bible study The God of the Covenant which finishes out the study of Genesis.Ā

Jenā€™s heart is for biblical literacy among women so we can love God the way he wants us to. With all of our hearts, minds, and souls.Ā

Truthfilled (Ruth Chou Simmons)

This study is a look at our natural life rhythms and seasons and how we can lean into the gospel during each of them. This does have videos for each session that can be purchased and downloaded but the book can stand on its own. I love how full of truth and scripture this bible study is ( as it should be) but I also love how BEAUTIFUL it is with all of Ruthā€™s watercolor artwork.Ā

The Forgotten God (Francis Chan)

We canā€™t forget about Francis Chan!Ā  A titan of the faith for this generation and a man who loves God and wants others to love Him too. The Forgotten God is a bible study all about Holy Spirit. A member of the trinity but one who seems to be forgotten or brushed aside. This study opened my eyes to the truth of who Holy Spirit is, how believers should relate to Him, and His identity as part of the trinity with Father and Son.Ā
