Worship is the act of ascribing worth to something or someone with everything we are. We are all born worshipping. And if we don't worship God, we will worth to created things...but only one thing will satisfy.
As you look at the history of the people of Israel in the Old Testament it isn’t hard to see the parallel between them and Gomer in the book of Hosea. This real story parallels the relationship that God had with Israel and the one God has with you and me.
Repentance is about being broken on account of our sin. Repentance is initiated and empowered by the Holy Spirit. It is an act of the heart motivated by the grace, justice and mercy of God. It is an inward act that produces outward actions that honor God.
We need faith more than ever to walk as believers. It is by faith we believe and trust and live in the forgiveness Christ has provided for us. It is by faith we believe and trust that God is in control even in the midst of the chaos that surrounds us. It is by faith we believe and trust God more for what he is doing in our lives. And It is by faith we trust and believe God more to walk in obedience daily.
What is your response to Jesus? Do you have a tendency to deny him, trivialize him, or mock him? All of us face the temptations to have responses like this. I am glad he offers grace and mercy to all of us who deny, trivialize and mock him. God is calling us to align fully with him, to see his significance and to give our lives fully to his lordship.
